What is a network?
The shared system that records and checks transactions.
The short version
Different blockchains maintain different ledgers. A multi-chain wallet can help you access several of them from one interface.
A closer look
A blockchain is a shared record of transactions kept by many computers at once instead of by a single company. The computers follow the same rules to agree on which transactions are valid and in which order they happened.
Each blockchain network has its own rules, its own native asset, its own address format and its own fees. Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana and Tron are separate networks, even though one wallet can show all of them side by side.
That is why assets do not move between networks on their own. If you send to the wrong network, the transfer may not arrive where you expect, so always match the asset, the network and the address.
Worth remembering
An asset name and a network name answer different questions. Always check both.
